My second year of teaching ended this week.  The year flew by!  So excited for my next bunch of kinders, but will definitely miss my kiddos from this year.  Today was Jackson's Eighth Grade Promotion. Tuesday was Gracie's Eighth Grade Graduation!!  Hard to believe they will both be Freshman next year!

This weekend was Memorial day weekend.  For the past two years we haven't been able to go down to Rick and Mary's cabin for the weekend because Lary has had the on call phone.  The same is true for this weekend, so we decided to spend the weekend working on some small projects around the house!  Saturday we started (and finished) painting the baby room!! I am so incredibly happy for how the color turned out.  The next step is getting the baby furniture!

Catch-up (Weeks 8-11)

8 Weeks- So tired!! No sickness yet, just tired (and napping) almost every night after work!

9 Weeks- Still very tired, no sickness, still taking plenty of naps;)

10 Weeks- Feeling great, but still tired. We had a busy busy week, so you guessed it: I took plenty of NAPS! We had our 2nd OB appointment, this time with another midwife, Connie.  She was fabulous and has a neat southern accent!  We were able to see another ultrasound of Baby Lehman, but she wants us to come back in 2 weeks to hear the heartbeat.  It was such an amazing thing to see our tiny little baby moving around like crazy and rubbing its face!  It is hard to believe how much our little baby moves and that I can't even feel it yet.  SO excited to actually feel our baby moving!

11 Weeks- Royals Game with Denny, Karie, Tori, and David! It was a bit chilly, but we had a blast and fabulous seats!

We spilled the beans! Happy Easter! We're Pregnant!

A Big Secret
We found out we were expecting with a home pregnancy test on Friday, March 21st.  We decided to keep things quiet for a bit since we had 2 miscarriages, one last October then again in January, until we knew everything was looking good with this pregnancy.  It was so hard not telling our parents and friends, but we wanted to be sure this time!

First Appointment and Ultrasound
We had our first OB appointment on April 11th.  Our midwife scheduled an ultrasound for the day of our appointment to get a look at baby and see how everything was.  Our ultrasound tech was fabulous and told us about everything we were seeing.  There was a little baby! We could see and faintly hear baby's heartbeat when she had the machine volume turned up high.  At 6 weeks and 2 days baby's heartbeat was 126 bpm. It looked like a teeny tiny peanut, and I like to think that we could see little arms forming.  After the ultrasound, we went to our appointment and finally met Krista.  She asked us lots of questions and gave us lots of information.

Telling our parents (all of them)
After our appointment, we surprised Amy and showed up at her  doctor's appointment she was having in Warrensburg.  I had the nurse hand her doctor a picture envelope that had "Grandma Amy Mahalovich" written on the outside of it.  When her doctor handed her the pictures, I could hear her squeal in her appointment room! She called me after she got home and when she gave the pictures to the girls, they were very excited too!  We hurried home so I could put the ultrasound picture on the refrigerator before Mom came to pick up Jackson.  She came in to the house and was talking on the phone. She walked right by the fridge towards the sink, then backed up in her steps and pulled the picture off the fridge and her mouth dropped to the floor.  After she got off the phone, the first thing she said was, "I can't believe you kept it a secret!" Karie and Denny came to Clinton the day of our appointment to go fishing.  When Lary told her we were going to the doctor in Warrensburg, I think she kind of had an idea for why we might be going! After we got our ultrasound pictures, we sent them to her and she was elated! We told Lary's dad that evening when we got home and no surprise, he was very excited!

Telling Everyone Else
We announced our pregnancy on Easter at Dad and Amy's.  We sat this out on the kitchen table before everyone got there.  At first everyone just thought it was a cute table decoration, but when they got a good look at it, there was lots of squealing and hugs.  No tears though!  After most of our family knew, we announced it to all of our Facebook friends and family with a picture of how we "spilled the beans."  It is awesome to think how loved this baby already is when it is barely the size of a pea!
